A fantasy laced crime mystery
Endearingly pretty design, reasonable (for a change) puzzles, an engaging story. In all, an enjoyable, challenging enough indie game, which keeps the player's interest alive till the end.
If the dialogues were actually voiced over instead of just showing the subtitles, that might enhance immersion in the story. A list of credits would also be nice.
But even as is, The Wild Case makes for a lovely little mystery excursion in a semi-abandoned village and its surrounding forest, with likeably eccentric characters and beautiful, as well as appropriately ominous environments.
In spite of the premise pointing towards a fantasy plot core, the final solution chooses the path of realism, leading to a rather plausible (always within fictional logic), as well as satisfying closure.
